Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started with my new pool installation?
The easiest way to get started is to browse through our website to get a feel for what is involved in designing a pool and then contact us to set up an appointment for us to sit down and visit with you at your home.
During our visit, we will ask questions to find out how you intend to use your pool like “Is it for activities, lounging or perhaps entertaining?” We will show you many styles and options and ask about your budget to make sure we give you our professional advice on how to get the most from your investment. From there, we will prepare our initial design recommendations and present you with our ideas for your new outdoor environment.
Do pools come with any warranty?
Del Prado Pools & Spa offers a comprehensive warranty. All equipment also comes with a manufacturers warranty. We will provide you with all warranty information and manuals.
What if I have a small yard or a large hill to deal with?
How much work is there in maintaining a pool?
On average, you will spend approximately 25 minutes a week maintaining your pool. That includes emptying the skimmer baskets, testing the water chemistry and adding the chlorine tablets to the chlorinator. We do suggest occasionally bringing in a water sample for a full chemical analysis. We also have a complete pool service department that offers opening, closing, and weekly cleaning and chemical treatments during the season.
How much does a custom pool cost?
Given the large number of variables, we welcome the opportunity to visit with you and discuss all the possibilities.
Why do cost estimates vary so much?
To help you better understand why there are variances in the prices for in-ground swimming pools, you should consider that the price is determined not just by the size of the pool, but also by the quality of materials, the quality of construction, the complexity of the design and whether the contractor includes all aspects of construction in its price estimate.
Many pool contractors are inexperienced with certain site situations and therefore bring in their bids lower to win the job and then add the numerous “cost overruns” after construction starts. While every pool builder faces some uncertainty with the costs to prepare the hole for the pool (due to rock, sink holes, and the like) many also do not factor in essential elements like retaining walls, systems integration, drainage systems, and safety features.
